Greasy Petes Rock the Walk
The electric sounds of rock, rhythm & blues joined with the soulful voice of singer Dave Stanger tore across San Diego's beautiful Balboa Park recently as The Greasy Petes got it going early for the 2006 Walk for Recovery. An eight AM start time is unusual for most musicians but that's when the band launched into a strong 75 minute set geared to help move the thousands of walk participants. Much of the set featured material found on their CD "Two and Ten" but three new songs were debuted. "It's all about me, ""Stone me," and "Love and Understanding" literally had people stopping and dancing in the street! Look for these on the upcoming CD due later this year. A portion of CD sales made at the event for were donated to the Walk for Recovery, a practice the band is excited about. "For us it's a great opportunity for community involvement," said bass player Billy Roland. "Some of the people in the walk used to come see us play years ago and now through this event we are able to support their resolve to better themselves." 3/27/06

"The music of the Greasy Petes is perfect for our show. It fits the lifestyle of our viewers and has the energy we were looking for. The industry response to the show has been overwhelmingly positive because we strive to keep the show as raw and real as possible. We reinforce this with our choice of soundtrack music and the Greasy Petes really came through. I'm looking forward to starting work on next seasons shows because I love working with these guys and I can't wait to hear what they will come up with next."
